TP Straka/Dieterich: Brainstem Plasticity following Embryonic Ear Manipulations

PhD student Clayton Gordy:

"Using Xenopus laevis as a model system, this project aims at gaining a better understanding of developmental plasticity in the brainstem. Through a variety of manipulations applied to the ear during embryonic development, such as rotation, extirpation, transplantation, and genetic manipulation, we seek to assess electrophysiological and behavioral output of vestibular brainstem circuitry in response to altered peripheral input."
