Mini Symposium on "Gender and Equality in Science"

The RTG 2175, the GSNLMU and the SFB 870 hosted jointly a Mini Symposium on"Gender and Equality in Science".


schiebingerThis symposium focused on gender related issues in the perception and evaluation of scientific excellence, as well as on gender perspective in research. The first keynote speaker Prof. Londa Schiebinger talked about the peer-reviewed "Gendered Innovations" project.

The second keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Thomas Hinz focused in his talk on "Recruitment Processes in Academia as Tournaments: When Gender Counts".
Furthermore, participants were invited to contribute to open discussions in five round tables on three gender related topics.
